Student supervision

Thesis topics can include the philosophy of mathematics, the history of ideas in probability and evidence, and the foundations of the logical approach to probability.

Inquiries are welcome from students at PhD, Masters and 4th year honours level who have thesis proposals in a range of areas connected with the philosophy of mathematics.
However, as I am now retired, joint supervision for higher degrees is preferable.

Theses supervised include:
Kundan Misra, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, the humanist agenda and the scientific method (MSc, 2012)
Therese Keane, Combat modelling with partial differential equations (PhD, 2009)
