Joe Baine

I am a mathematician working in modular representation theory. My research interests typically arise from Kazhdan-Lusztig theory where one tries to answer representation theoretic questions using perverse sheaves on flag varieties, Soergel bimodules, and diagrammatic algebras. Much of my work pertains to mixed Hecke categories.

I am currently a post-doc at the University of New South Wales being supervised by Daniel Chan. I was previously a Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Sydney. I completed my PhD in June 2024 at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Geordie Williamson.
