Biography

Jake Olivier is a Professor of Statistics within the School of Mathematics and Statistics and Deputy Director of Transport and Road Safety Research Centre at UNSW Australia. He is the current president of the NSW Branch of the Statistical Society of Australia and immediate past chair of the Biostatistics Section. He serves on the editorial boards of BMJ Open, PLOS ONE, Cogent Medicine and the Journal of the Australasian College of Road Safety. His research interests are vulnerable road user safety and statistical methods for evaluating public health interventions.

Jake is an American/Australian originally from New Orleans. His academic training started in mathematics which eventually morphed into applied statistics and biostatistics. He spent graduate school and early academic appointments in Mississippi.
