About Me
Welcome! My name is Christian, and I am a PhD student in mathematics at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, working under the supervision of Igor Shparlinski, Bryce Kerr and Alina Ostafe. I completed an honours degree (first class) in mathematics at the University of Calgary in 2021, where I was awarded multiple university medals.
My PhD work is currently centered around arithmetic problems in rational function fields over finite fields, and I am particularly interested in exponential sums in this setting.
I am also interested in data science and machine learning, and in applying my mathematics and problem solving skills in industry settings. I am currently working as a Data Science Intern at Audinate here in Sydney.
