Conference organisation

I am on the Local Arrangements Committee of the 1st PRIMA Congress 2009. (PRIMA = Pacific Rim Mathematical Association.) The Congress will be held at UNSW from 6-10 July 2009. See http://www.primath.org/prima2009/ for more details including a list of plenary speakers and special sessions.

I am on the Program Committee for the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society, to be held at the University of South Australia in September 2009.

Together with Ole Warnaar, I co-organised a Special Session on Combinatorics and Geometry at the 50th Annual Meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society, held at Macquarie University, Sydney in September 2006.

I was on the organising committee of the 14th Annual Conference on Formal Power Series and Algebraic Combinatorics (FPSAC 2002) which was held in Melbourne on 8th--12th July 2002.

I was on the programme committee of the 29th International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP 2002) which was held in Malaga, Spain, on 8th--13th July 2002. (Sadly I couldn't attend because I had to be at FPSAC!)

Australasian Journal of Combinatorics

I am a Managing Editor of the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics. So go ahead and send us your best articles!

Membership of professional societies

I am a member of the Australian Mathematical Society.

I am a Council member of the Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia (CMSA). The CMSA organise the annual ACCMCC conference series (Australasian Conferences on Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing), usually held in December each year. Our next conference will be held at the University of Newcastle in December 2009.

The CMSA also publish the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics.

Girls Do The Maths

Do The Maths is a project run by the School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW. The aim of the project is to attract more students to major in mathematics at UNSW, and also to encourage current undergraduate students to consider the possibility of postgraduate study in mathematics.

A one-day workshop for female students completing their high school mathematics studies was held on Friday 16 May 2008. Participants enjoyed a packed program with guest speakers, information sessions and input from some current UNSW mathematics undergraduates. More information.

School administration

I am a member of the School's Research Committee and Publicity Committee.
