The land was acquired in 1996 and we are working with the Tweed Shire Council
to establish a rural landsharing community facilitated
by New South Wales state government planning legislation which entitles up to 14 dwellings on the property. As required
by the legislation, the land will be collectively owned and the emphasis will be on
low cost owner-built and recycled dwellings. A development application was submitted
to the Tweed Shire Council on Monday April 23, 2007. It is going through a process of revision taking
into account the local farming community's concerns.
On February 2, 2009, council demanded more information and wrote
"The above issues are required to be addressed within a 28 day timeframe. In light of the length of time and the lack of adequate information provided to date this application will be recommended for refusal to Council's Development Application Panel if these matters are not adequately addressed."
