Research Interests:
My research focusses on the mechanisms underlying climate modes and water mass variability. I implement data analysis techniques and climate modelling. Specific interests include the evolution of Southern Ocean water masses; air-sea processes in relation to ENSO, Indian Ocean anomalies, Southern Annular Mode, and their connection to regional rainfall variability and extremes. My current research is on Indian Ocean variability, ENSO, and the role of ocean gateways on climate.
